Boston Basement
This basement floor was a dark, cavernous space that felt disconnected from the garden just outside its doors. An existing bedroom was relocated to create more connectivity with the garden. Banquette seating and built in bookshelves were added to give the main living space architectural interest. Existing furniture was layered with new pieces to create a functional and tranquil space. Everything was kept light and bright making this space feel more like a top floor penthouse than a subterranean basement.
